From the HVLA President:

April 14, 2024

Boating season is almost upon us! Just a few reminders as we roll into summer: All boat/safety information is listed on www.HVLA.info

 - If you are new to the village and plan on buying a boat - review the size/motor requirements before purchasing a boat. Any boat that does not meet the requirements of the covenants will not be allowed on the lake. - The sticker request form is on the website as well. More information can be found at

https://www.hvla.info/hvla-watercraft-sticker-request-form

- Dues and boat penalties (if applicable) must be current or access to the lake will be denied.

- Speed limit is 35 mph

- Only (1) watercraft per lot in the water (operating) at the same time.

- No wake in the coves.

- Counter-clockwise traffic pattern on the lake

- PWCs cannot be on the lake after dusk (this is a state law). There has been confusion about street lights being on, etc. A good rule of thumb is if the street lights are on - the PWC should be docked. If you want to be precise - use the sunset time from any weather app.

- Safety rules are listed here

 - Safety violation report form

- Helpful Boating Information

-The goal of our covenants and safety regulations is to provide a safe experience on the lake.

- Multiple reported safety violations can result in loss of lake privileges.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy summer!

If you have any questions - please feel free to reach our to any board member.
